"I was born and raised in Hamnelstad, by the Lule River, and have returned there and settled there, as an adult. The river has always been a part of my life. As a child, I bathed in the river almost every day during the summers. I was going by boat, skating, skiing, and riding a snowmobile on the river. During recent winters, I have walked for many hours on the river's nice "winter roads", together with my dog Rio. A perfect combination of mindfulness and exercise." (Madeleine Beckenäs)

"The picture of Nederluleå church's tower: I was born and raised in Gammelstad and have returned there as an adult, and settled there. The church and the church town (with all the church cottages) have always fascinated me. Nowadays, the area is one of the World Heritage Sites. Walking quietly in these surroundings is soothing and you can almost feel the wings of history." (Madeleine Beckenäs)
